Cooperatives

Online voting for cooperative elections

Give eligible members a clear way to vote on modern phones while keeping individual access and ballot choices private.

What usually makes this election difficult

A savings or accounting record is not automatically a voting register. Confirm active membership and any financial-status cutoff from the cooperative’s rules.

Members may share devices or have varied digital confidence. Plan support that explains access without asking anyone to disclose their choices.

Connectivity can vary across locations. Test the actual journey before launch and communicate when and where members can get help.

A simple workflow

  1. Review voting eligibility and officer nominations under the cooperative’s rules.
  2. Approve a current member roster without exporting unrelated account balances.
  3. Prepare a plain ballot and try it with representative sample voters.
  4. Provide individual access and a clear voting window.
  5. Finalize the result and communicate it with the required meeting records.

What Votes.ng helps you control

Each eligible voter record can submit at most one Live ballot. A member’s link and code lead to the same entitlement, so switching access methods does not create a second vote.

Prepare positions and candidate information, review eligible voters manually or by CSV, and try the complete journey in Test mode. Each eligible voter uses a personal voting link or their email and voting code. The organizer can follow participation without a named list of ballot choices.

When Live voting closes, finalize the aggregate result and choose whether to publish its result record. A voting receipt can confirm a recorded submission without showing candidate choices.

Votes.ng does not guarantee compliance with cooperative law. Governing rules and local requirements may set conditions you need to check separately.

Common questions

Can members use phones?

The ballot is designed for modern mobile browsers. Test the devices and connections your members use.

Can members share a device?

Each member needs their own access. Give each person privacy, finish their session, and avoid saving or sharing access details.

Can we correct the list?

Review and correct it in Draft or Test before Live launch; Live voter-list changes are restricted.
