Voting Links and Voting Codes: How Voter Access Works
Learn how personal voting links and voting codes can give eligible voters simple ballot access while supporting one-person-one-vote controls.

Two ways to reach one ballot
Eligible Votes.ng voters use a personal voting link or their election email and voting code. They do not need an organizer account simply to cast a ballot.
Both methods reach the same voting right. Once a Live ballot is successfully recorded for that voter record, switching from a link to a code does not create another opportunity to vote.
Personal voting links
A personal link opens the supported access flow for a particular eligible voter. Votes.ng checks access and the election’s voting window before allowing the ballot.
Treat the link as private. Someone who receives it may attempt to use it before the intended voter. Do not post it in a group chat, bookmark it on a shared device, or include it in a public election notice.
Email and voting code
The code method uses the email associated with the eligible voter record and the issued voting code. It can help when opening a personal link is inconvenient.
Use the details for the correct election. Repeated incorrect attempts are restricted. If access fails, contact the organizer without sharing your code publicly or disclosing your candidate choices.
Organizer invitations
The organizer can send individual invitations through the supported email workflow. Check each voter’s email first, communicate the opening and closing times, and name a support contact.
Sending invitations does not guarantee delivery. Ask voters to check the intended inbox and handle problems through the approved eligible record. Plan reminders as part of your own communication process rather than assuming an automatic schedule.
Lost or exposed unused access
Confirm the voter’s existing record before replacing access. The supported replacement workflow invalidates the old unused access; it does not add another eligible person or restore a voting right already used.
Read duplicate-vote prevention for why a clean roster matters.
Shared devices
Each person must use their own access even when several members share a computer or phone. Let the first person finish and give the next voter a private space. Do not save personal links on the shared device.
Helping someone open access should never require asking which candidates they selected.
Test the complete journey
Use sample voters in Test mode to try both methods. Check that the intended ballot opens, an incorrect code is handled safely, replaced unused access stops working, and a successful submission does not allow another ballot.
Read how to test before launch. Review the roster using the voter-list guide.
