Security and ballot privacy

A careful process for every election.

Votes.ng separates voter eligibility from ballot choices, limits each eligible voter to one Live ballot, and keeps Test activity apart from a real election.

Who can take part

The organizer prepares the eligible voter list and provides each person with their own voting link or a voting code. The service checks access against the election and its eligible voters before accepting a ballot.

How ballot privacy works

A completed ballot is stored separately from the voter’s participation record. Organizers can see who has participated, but the organizer interface does not show how a named person voted.

One ballot and Test mode

For a Live election, each eligible voter can submit at most one ballot. Ballot submission and the participation update happen together. Test activity remains separate and cannot become a Live vote.

Protecting the election record

When an election goes Live, structural changes are restricted to protect the election. Completed Live ballots and finalized results are preserved. A published result includes a check that can help confirm the record has not changed.
